Understand Why You Cannot Edit or Delete a Job Type
You cannot amend the Job Type Code once a Job Type has been created.
You can only delete a Job Type if it is not in use on any Staff Contract.
If the Delete option is not available under Actions, it means at least one Staff Contract in a scenario is using that Job Type.
To change a Job Type Code, you must create a new Job Type and then remove the old one once it is no longer in use.
Create a New Job Type to Replace an Incorrect One
Click the Academy/School menu.
Click Job Types.
Click the + (plus) symbol to create a new Job Type.
Enter the required details for the new Job Type (including the correct Job Type Code).
Click Save.
You can now start using the new Job Type on Staff Contracts.
Delete an Incorrect Job Type (When Available)
Once a Job Type is no longer in use:
Click the Academy/School menu.
Click Job Types.
In the Actions column for the Job Type you want to remove, click Delete (if available).
Confirm the deletion if prompted.
If Delete is not shown, the Job Type is still in use on at least one Staff Contract.
Make the Delete Option Available
If the Delete option is missing for a Job Type:
Identify the Staff Contracts that are using this Job Type.
Open each affected Staff Contract and change the Job Type to a different, valid Job Type (for example, the new one you have created).
Save the Staff Contract.
Repeat for all contracts that use the old Job Type.
Once the Job Type is no longer selected on any Staff Contract, return to Job Types:
The Delete option should now be available in the Actions column for that Job Type.
You can then delete the incorrect Job Type if required.
