⚠️Important: The Basic Entitlement and AWPU lines are not entered manually. The AWPU line is a formula line:
Pupil Numbers × Amount Per Pupil.
To change these figures, you must update the Pupil Numbers and the cost per pupil.
Understand How Basic Entitlement and AWPU Work
The Basic Entitlement and Age Weighted Pupil Unit (AWPU) lines are calculated automatically by the software.
You cannot amend these figures directly on the GAG Income screen.
Instead, the values come from:
The Pupil Numbers you enter in the Pupil Numbers section.
The Amount Per Pupil you set against Age Weighted Pupil Units.
Once you update those inputs, the Basic Entitlement and AWPU figures refresh in the GAG Income section.
Update Pupil Numbers for Basic Entitlement
In your scenario, click the Scenario menu.
Click Pupil Numbers.
Add or update the pupil numbers as required for each relevant year/group.
Click Save (if applicable) to confirm your changes.
These pupil numbers are used in the AWPU formula to calculate the Basic Entitlement.
Set the Cost Per Pupil for AWPU
In the Pupil Numbers section, find Age Weighted Pupil Units.
Next to Age Weighted Pupil Units, click the arrow to open the settings/details.
Enter the correct cost per pupil (amount per pupil).
Click Save.
The system recalculates the Basic Entitlement using the updated pupil numbers and cost per pupil.
Check the Updated GAG Income
After you save your changes:
The Basic Entitlement and AWPU figures automatically populate and update within the GAG Income section.
Review the GAG Income lines to make sure the values look correct based on your pupil numbers and cost per pupil.
