Learn how to add and code the EL 420 – Transfers to capital fund line so the linked CIL 565 – Transfer from revenue reserves line appears in Capital.

Add the Transfer from Revenue Reserves Capital Line

To make the CIL 565 – Transfer from revenue reserves line appear in Capital, you must first add and code the EL 420 – Transfers to capital fund line in Other Expenditure.

  1. Open your budget scenario and go to the Other Expenditure section.

  2. Add the line EL 420 – Transfers to capital fund to this section.

  3. In the EL 420 row, code the line in the usual way:

    • In each account code field, select the relevant code from the drop-down lists.

    • When all required account code fields are completed, click Save.

Once the EL 420 line is added and coded in Other Expenditure, the linked CIL 565 – Transfer from revenue reserves line appears in the Capital section.


Remove the Transfer from Revenue Reserves Capital Line

If you no longer need the transfer:

  1. Return to the Other Expenditure section.

  2. Remove the EL 420 – Transfers to capital fund line.

When you remove the EL 420 line from Other Expenditure, the linked CIL 565 – Transfer from revenue reserves line is also removed from Capital.


If You Use Linked Accounting Software

If you use external accounting software with Access Education Budgets:

  • When you re-add the EL 420 – Transfers to capital fund line after removing it, you may need to re-code the line (for example, re-select the correct account codes) so it links correctly to your accounting software again.
