This article explains how to update Funding Grouping and Funding Heading descriptions from the Academy or School settings.
These headings help organise income budget lines within your budget structure.
β οΈImportant: If you are a maintained school through a Local Authority, Funding Grouping Headings is unavailable in Settings because the Local Authority sets the Funding Grouping and Funding Heading structure.
Add a Funding Group

Click the Academy/ School menu, then click Settings.
Click Funding Grouping Headings.
Click the plus button.
Enter the Funding Group name.
Click Save.
Add a Funding Heading to a Funding Group
After you add a Funding Group, you can add Funding Headings under it.
Find the newly added Funding Group.
Under Actions, click Add Funding Heading.
Enter the Funding name.
From the right-hand drop-down field, select the I/E Section. This is the budget line that will fall under the Funding Heading.
Select the coding that applies.
Select the Inflation type, either by percentage or by pupils.
Select the scenarios the changes apply to.
Click Save.
πNote: Selecting the inflate options affects future scenarios only.
Update a Funding Grouping Description

Click the Academy/School menu, then click Settings.
Click Funding Grouping Headings.
Find the Funding Grouping you want to update.
Under Actions, click Edit Group.
Amend the Funding Grouping description.
Click Save.
Update a Funding Heading Description
Click the Academy/School menu, then click Settings.
Click Funding Grouping Headings.
Find the Funding Grouping that contains the heading you want to update.
Under Actions, click Manage Funding Headings to open the list of Funding Headings within that Funding Grouping.
Find the Funding Heading you want to update.
Under Actions, click Edit.
Amend the Heading Name.
Click Save.
πNote:You cannot amend the Heading Name for Basic Entitlement Age Weighted Pupil Unit (AWPU) or Total Programme Funding Formula.
