Use the Arbor Link Module

Learn how to export staffing data from Arbor and import it into Access Education Budgets using the Access Education Links Companion.

The Access Education Links Companion is a desktop application that lets you transfer data between third-party systems and Access Education Budgets. With the Arbor link, you can export your staffing information from Arbor and import it directly into a Budgets scenario.

⚠️Important: The Arbor link is an additional module. If you would like to use it, please speak to your Account Manager about purchasing the link before you start. You also need the Access Education Links Companion installed on your PC. If you need help downloading and installing it, see the article Download and Install the Links Companion.

Step 1 – Export Staffing Data from Arbor

  1. Log in to Arbor.

  2. In the left-hand menu, click School.

  3. Click Data.

  4. Click Integrations Administration.

  5. Click Access Budgeting.

  6. Click Export.

Arbor creates an export file (XML) containing your staffing data and downloads it to your PC (usually to your Downloads folder).

πŸ“ŒNote: If you cannot see the Access Budgeting button in Arbor, contact Arbor support and ask them to activate it for you.


Step 2 – Open and Sign In to Access Education Links Companion

  1. On your desktop, double-click the Access Education Links icon.

    • If you are already logged in to Access Education in your browser, the Links Companion will log you in automatically.

    • If you are not logged in, a Sign-in page opens in your internet browser.

  2. If prompted, enter your Access Education email address and password, then click Sign In.

  3. If this is your first time using Links Companion, you will see a Consent Required message.

    • Click Accept to allow the application to access your data on your behalf.

Once signed in, the Links Companion home screen appears.


Step 3 – Import Staffing Data from Arbor into Budgets

  1. In Access Education Links, select the Arbor tab.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Click Select XML.

  4. Browse to the XML file you exported from Arbor (usually in your Downloads folder).

  5. Select the file and click Open.

  6. Click Next.

  7. From the list, select the scenario you want to import your staffing into.

  8. Click Next.

  9. On the next page, select the staff you want to import.

    • You can usually choose all staff or select specific individuals as needed.

  10. Click Import from Arbor.

The selected staffing records are imported into the chosen Access Education Budgets scenario.
