This article explains how to work with a Locked Scenario in Access Education Budgets. Locked scenarios are read-only, so they cannot be amended directly. To make changes, you must copy the locked scenario back into the Working Scenarios area, update it there, and then lock it again if required.

You cannot edit a scenario while it is in the Published/Locked tab. You must first create a working copy.

Copy a Locked Scenario Back to Working Scenarios

  1. Click the Academy/School menu.

  2. Click Manage Budgets.

  3. Click the Published/Locked tab.

  4. Find the locked scenario you want to change.

  5. In the Actions column, click the drop-down menu.

  6. Click Copy to working scenarios.

The system creates a copy of the locked scenario and places it in the Working Scenarios tab.

Edit the Working Copy

  1. Click the Working Scenarios tab.

  2. Find the copied scenario.

    • It will usually be named Copy of... followed by the original scenario name.

  3. Open the copied scenario.

  4. Make the required changes.

  5. Save your updates as normal.

You can now use this working copy as your amended version of the original locked scenario.

Lock the Scenario Again If Required

Once you have finished making changes:

  1. Go back to Manage Budgets.

  2. In the Working Scenarios tab, find the amended copy.

  3. In the Actions column, click Select.

  4. Click Lock.

The scenario becomes read-only again and moves back to the Published/Locked tab.
